Beaumont Farmington Hills Medical Library: Full-Text Help

Looking for the Full-Text?

This feature is available to our physicians and employees who have a valid Library barcode. You will see a link in one of our databases that says "Find Fulltext."

What does Find Fulltext do?

Find Fulltext can lead you to:

  • fulltext of the journal article or book online (if available)
  • a search of the Library online catalog
  • an Interlibrary Loan request form
  • a link to get help from a librarian
  • a search for a fulltext journal available through the Library

Why is the fulltext article not always available online?

If the Find Fulltext page does not provide you with a link to the content of the fulltext article online, it is likely because the item is not published in an online format or because our Library does not have a print or electronic subscription to the item requested.

I clicked on the link for fulltext, but it only took me to the journal's homepage. Why?

While most publishers enable linking directly to fulltext articles, other publishers restrict access to the journal or publisher's homepage. This doesn't mean you can't get to the fulltext article online, but it will take you a little more work to find it.

My item is not available online or in print in the library, what do I do now?

If you are one of our physicians or employees, you can request the item using an Article Request. Most requests can be filled within two business days.
