Accessing Library Resources Remotely

by Diane Piskorowski on 2019-08-01T11:03:04-05:00 | Comments

Remote access provides off-campus access to the electronic resources provided by the medical libraries at Beaumont Health. This means access to databases, e-journals and e-books!

When you are on campus and logged into a Beaumont networked computer, you will have access to the library's resources but if you are at home, on the go, or using WiFi, you will need to log in. This takes a few steps but the process is easy:

  • The easiest way to access the library's site is to go through the Beaumont education site, is a link to the medical libraries on the top black banner. Scroll down and select your library. If you are assigned to Farmington Hills, you need to select that site or you will be denied access to the resources.
  • Once you have selected a resource, you will be prompted to log in using your Beaumont email and password. If you do not have a Beaumont email, use your (such as plus your password.
  • You will want to mark "yes" to the "Stay signed in?" option that pops up. It will reduce the number of times you are requested to log in.

If you are having problems with your Beaumont email or password , click on the "Can't access your account" link or contact the Beaumont IT Help Desk at 888.481.2448.

Comments or questions, contact the library at 947.521.8434 or Library hours are Monday-Friday, 9-4.
